I just had the gloomiest coupla weeks I've had in years. The good news is that I managed to drag myself all the places I was supposed to be and do almost everything I was supposed to do. Except pay bills. I think I will owe some late fees when I finally get around to that tonight. Actually, it's all pretty much good news. Here's what you missed while I was too glum to chronicle:

• took Victoria drumming the past two Wednesdays
• picked the second half of our blueberry allotment
• flew to Chicago for a memorial service in a spectacularly unairconditioned church and flew back the same day
