Friday. Thirteen. Terrifying.

Maybe not terrifying. Unnerving. But nifty all the same.

V decided she had to see The Fault in our Stars movie and then she and a friend cooked up a plan to walk directly to the theater after school. Just the two of them. Of course I couldn't help thinking Lyons sisters but everything worked out fine with the added benefit of my not having to see The Fault in our Stars movie. I was pretty freaked out over the whole idea but I concealed it pretty well, or maybe V just ignored it pretty well. Anyway: whew!

I feel like one of the benefits of having a preteen would be being able to see this movie that has suddenly blown up everywhere and also being able to roll your eyes about it to your coworkers the next day and pretend it was lame.

I feel like I attended this movie already. I did read the book, so I knew what she was talking about when she described EACH scene AND the audience's reaction (apparently it was a sympathetic and appreciative crowd except for the jerks with a skateboard behind V&M). This review was delivered using some obscure circular breathing technique at 300Hz or thereabouts. One of the benefits of having a preteen is seeing her at her happiest. Let's not talk about the other end of the spectrum!

Yay for not giving into your fear. Yay for V for getting a touch of independence.

Perfect, now she is ready to fly out to Colorado by herself to go skiing.

Perfect, just send her back when she's 22 or so.
