Spy Museum

Brian took Victoria to the beach for a couple of days. His brother is renting a house at Nags Head, but I can't take more than a week off work so they're going by themselves. The big kids and I took advantage of the toddler-free day to go to the Spy Museum. We had a good time, but it wasn't the greatest museum experience. For $13 a head and timed tickets, I would expect less of a crowd. The layout of the exhibits was not particularly linear: I had to double back a couple of times to avoid missing stuff. The most disturbing thing about the collection is hard to express--the underlying idea seemed to be ooh, check out this cool thing and little more. Still, the gadgets and the stories WERE cool and I guess I can ponder the moral ambiguities of espionage on my own at home for free. I am still trying to get to the NSA Cryptologic Museum, which has not been open any time I've been free for the past ten years or so. Some day...
