Saturday I bought some books at the church yard sale, nothing spectacular. Once it got good and hot, we slathered the baby in sunblock and went to the Joint Services Open House, renamed The Airplane Party for baby appeal. I'm definitely going back next year, that was the best air show I have ever seen. And heard. The stuff on the ground was good, too. Later that night, Christopher babysat while Brian and I went to see Word Wars, which was a lot of fun. A very good day.
Sunday was ok, too. Strollered to the zoo via metro, hung out all afternoon. When we got home, Jennifer called about returning the truck she had borrowed all weekend--she wanted a ride home. She showed up with her friend and we all went out to Bennigan's to eat before dropping them off. I had brought home a stack of work to do and started to look at it after Victoria went to bed but put it away in favor of reading Ella Enchanted (I saw an ad for the movie and the book has been sitting in the house unread for years), which I did enjoy but couldn't help thinking about George MacDonald's The Light Princess the whole time. I guess I will reread that pretty soon.
