My coworker's parents moved into a retirement place last Christmas and they had to divest themselves of 40 years' worth of clutter. They wanted each kid to take whatever he or she wanted, but Ann's one request--for the ping pong table--was challenged by her younger brother. She was a little annoyed. His kids are too little to play ping pong AND he doesn't have a place to keep it yet. Plus it's too big to fit in his car. He asked her if she would take it and hold it for him.
