it is raining

It has been raining for days. Lots of rain. Today is a rainy school holiday, so do you think I am very popular taking up a seat in the kids' computer room? Shouldn't all these kids be out playing in puddles or something?

Saturday we took a very damp hike through a park. It was nice, part of a winter hike series sponsered by metro parks. Nice and wet. I had intended to take the 1.5 mile hike, but Victoria wasn't ready to stop then so we pressed on for the 3.5 mile trail and--who didn't guess this would happen--halfway through that she was sooooo tired. And her feet were itchy. I figured out a stupid game to keep her going and I am very happy to say it worked. The problem is I might have to pretend to be a train engine with a pesky caboose every time we are in a wooded situation now. These little triumphs always tend to bite me in the butt eventually.

Nothing is working yet. No internet. The keys the post office gave me don't open the mailbox! The mortgage guy isn't returning my calls. And it is very, very damp and gray. Other than that, everything is fine.

More later.

Please keep us posted, even if it's a pain until you get something more permanent set up.

And, oh, by the way, just how temporary are the digs you've got? We may be out there at the end of March, depending on a whole bunch of things, on the way to and/or from Costume-Con in St. Louis. It seems Columbus is in the direct path to the con...

We are here for three months or so. The lease goes to the beginning of April and we can rent month-to-month after that if we haven't found anything yet. I'm sure we can accommodate congoers. Uh, that's con-goers. Either, really, all are welcome! Let me know dates because we do tag along on trips when Brian has interesting ones. Next week we're going to Tampa. Some time after that, Las Vegas. I will post more about the place we're in now--it's ok, but Brian likes it more than I do.

Oh, and E got her letter from V yesterday. She was very amused but a little confused. I mentioned she has a pen pal, and she should sit down and write something back to V as soon as possible.

If this plan comes together, we may be traveling March 28th and 29th, and then again on April 2nd and 3rd. That would put us at your place on the 28th and 2nd. Knowing where we'll be staying at the midway point will really help the plan jell. I think....

I'm trying not to get excited. I've made plans like this before, only to find out at the last minute that some some sort of disaster will keep me from doing what I want.

So does this mean the Verizon Fairy has been to your place?

Re: Oh, YEAH
Very, very weird. I told Victoria about E's remark and she insisted upon drafting a response immediately. I took it with me to the library because I had your address in my google account--but somewhere along the way I lost track of the letter. Someone must have mailed it for us. Thanks, random Ohioan!

It's the SBC Fairy and just in time, too--I was this close to losing it.
