Rivendell tonight. I am lucky because I have a lot of great places to walk to, both when I'm home or at work (although vacation was easily the best of all).
I asked Brian a while ago what sort of situation he thought he'd like to have in Ohio. Living situation. He asked, "What are my options?" The company only asks that he live within 40 miles of the airport--I told him that this radius encompasses a wide range of lifestyles, from rural to right in the middle of one of the country's largest cities. "Yeah," he said, "it'll probably be something like that." Whatever. We will move somewhere and it will probably be my choice since that's what happened every other time we have found a place to live.
So I've been thinking about it and rural is right out. I think it would have to be in town, a place where I could walk or bike to the library and the post office and where it would be safe to walk at night. I know the crime statistics for the place I live right now are daunting, but I walk at night around here a lot and have never had a problem. Earlier this summer I had been pushing a stroller for Victoria, but I have been discouraging its use lately. She's very active anyway, but some extra walking won't hurt her; the real reason I'd rather ditch the stroller is that it seems to attract people who want to poke at her and say hello. They probably are just trying to be friendly but I hate it.

Congratulations, you walker you. And good luck with finding a place to live that has lots of fun stuff around it.
